VISION

Our vision is a world where every individual, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, or background, enjoys the full protection of their human rights and has the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive and supportive society.

Leadership: IHRL is led by a team of enthusiastic human rights advocates, legal experts, and social inclusion specialists, all committed to advancing social justice and equality in Lesotho.

  • Equality: Commitment to promoting and ensuring fairness in all aspects of society.
  • Diversity: Embracing the rich tapestry of gender identities and experiences.
  • Respect: Upholding the dignity and rights of every individual.
  • Empowerment: Strengthening communities through education, awareness, and the tools to bring about meaningful change.
  • Integrity: Operating transparently, ethically, and with accountability in all our endeavours, (and may more other values enshrined in our constitution).

  • Expand our programs and reach to include more marginalized communities across Lesotho.
  • Collaborate with local and international organizations to advocate for gender-responsive policies.
  • Develop a comprehensive resource centre that provides legal aid and counselling for victims of human rights violations.

Collaboration

In 2023, the International Human Rights Lab (IHRL) formed a strategic consortium called International Supportive Futures (ISF) with Supporting the future, a renowned organization focused on leveraging the power of sports for social change. This collaboration is designed to amplify our collective efforts to protect and promote human rights, with a specific focus on utilizing sports as a platform for advocacy and awareness. Through this partnership, we aim to expand our mandate by engaging diverse communities in sports-based initiatives that foster dialogue, inclusivity, and empowerment, while addressing key human rights issues. By combining our expertise in human rights education and Supporting the Future’s experience in sports for social good, we are creating new opportunities to reach wider audiences, especially youth and marginalized groups, in promoting equality, gender justice, and the protection of human rights.
